Arnold Gerrit Henskes was born on 6th August 1912 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. But our story actually starts in 1945, when at the age of 33, he claimed he became aware that his body was able to withstand great trauma, mostly with no ill effects. He demonstrated this by plunging swords straight through his body, miraculously missing all major organs.
Mirin Dajo died of an aortic rupture on 26th May 1948, age 36, after swallowing a 36cm needle.
