Spirits must be invited into your life. That goes for both good and evil spirits. If you want Jesus in your life you have to invite Him. Jesus stands at the door knocking, waiting for you to let Him in.
The Holy Spirit also waits for you to invite him into your life. After you've invited Jesus, invite the Holy Spirit into your life every day to continually be filled with the Holy Spirit.
In the same way, evil spirits are also waiting for your invitation. You must be on your guard and resist them at all times. You must constantly fight by allowing Jesus and the Holy Spirit to fight for you.
Remember, all spirits must be invited so pay close attention to what you do. Demons are cunning and will seize any moment as an invitation even if you don't realize it. Therefore, continually invite holiness into your life so there will be no room for evil.
