In this episode, Red Angle Radio gets personal as our guest is Fernando Meana, Bradley Hartmann’s father-in-law. You’ll hear how Fernando describes the unbelievable details of what it was like to grow up in Cuba during the revolution. He chronicles how he and his family were part of the underground, anticommunist movement, and how he was able to leave Cuba and come to the U.S. as a teenager. Some of the highlights of the episode include Meana’s mother standing up to the Cuban militia, moving from the subtropical climate of Cuba to one of the coldest parts of the U.S., learning English and his path to U.S. citizenship, and the misconceptions Americans have about what it’s like to live in Cuba today. Enjoy my conversation with Fernando Meana!
