Welcome to Protecting Your Nest with Dr. Tony Hampton. Joining the show all the way from Ireland today is Ken Armstrong. Ken spent much of his professional life working in retail and managing restaurants and bars. Through poor eating choices, poor sleep, and lots of stress, he ended up weighing 450 pounds. By the time he was 41 or 42 years of age, he came across Gary Taubes’ book, Why We Get Fat, and, following the low sugar and low carb advice he found there, started dropping pounds very quickly. By the time 18 months had elapsed, he had lost 170 pounds!

In this conversation, Ken shares about his life as a person who has had the life-changing experience of going from obese to achieving a healthier weight. He talks not only of his successes and his methods for maintaining that success, but also of his failures and what caused him to lose sight of his goals at times. Over the course of his health journey, Ken has had ups and downs, but the many benefits of LowCarb and fasting—benefits that he and Dr. Tony discuss—have kept him coming back.
