I grew up in the church, where “God the Mother” was not something we were ever exposed to—the closest we came was Mary, the mother of Jesus, yet never a Mother Goddess in her own right. Though I don’t view these as literal figures, I believe everyone embodies archetypes of these divine energies. Similar to how the Force is presented in Star Wars, I believe this balanced force of Father and Mother exists within all of us, and when united, it becomes the Christ—the Son of God within us all.
